PSYCHOMETRIC TEST
For the past five years, St. Britto’s has used a unique methodology by incorporating the Psychometric test into the curriculum.
The test is administered to odd classes 3,5,7,9, and 11. During their time at St. Britto’s, students go through an interest schedule, multiple intelligence tests, test anxiety, study skills, personality test, Aptitude test, and Value Scale, all of which serve as guiding factors for their future education and careers.
These tests assist students in identifying their capacities in terms of their areas of strength and areas for development, and they encourage students to work on developing their strengths and areas for development.
Students investigate and comprehend themselves to discover their true inherent potential and to help them set goals for higher education and career planning.
Students can learn whether they are word smart, logic smart, and so on by taking multiple intelligence tests based on Howard Gardener’s nine types of intelligence. Self-assessment questionnaires given to students at a young age help them understand their intelligence, what values are important to them, their personality and interest areas, and how to choose courses accordingly. When it comes to test anxiety scale and study skills, which are assessed for students in grades X and XII in Board classes, students understand the relationship between good study skills and excellent marks and strive to improve their study skills to improve their marks or grades.
VALUE DAY
Values form the backbone of St. Brittoâs Academy. Every day starts with a Value.
Teachers are empowered by the administration to share one thought /one value/one story a day.
This enables the students to think positive, and hold on to their right morals, and to hope for a better accomplishment of their dreams and visions whatever
circumstances they are at.
Many of the values shared are based on life situations. They may be experiences of known or unknown people. Here Brittoâs emphasis that Learning is everywhere, either through your own experience, or the experience of others. Such learning, paves the way for Realization or Reflection and provides solutions, models, ways to handle situations and circumstances faced by the students.
Students are also welcome to share their learning or experience in a common forum or to ask a query and drop it in the âMay I help youâ box, with or without disclosing their identity, which will be addressed by the counselors of the level.
Strive not to be a success but rather to be of value-Albert Einstein
Children face and understand a lot of conflicting situations at home and Society. Until they are 10 years old, kids do not attach cause and effect relationship, right or wrong, good or bad, or who is right and who is wrong. They may also not voice out against any elder.
But when they enter teen, their role models-friends, idols, parents may seem to them as true or false, people with integrity or hypocrites. That is when they have internal conflicts. But may, or may not be bold to speak against it to any elder.
When they grow into adolescence, on their enroute to establish their self-identity, they choose to act based on their interpretation of the situation. Either practice or imitate the values followed at home no matter good or bad or have conflicts to follow either choose neither, based on the one establishing the integrity at home.
They may also start to question, voice out, act to find a solution for their internal conflicts.
The school understand this and keeps all the support system in place to help the students to maintain balance and find and follow the right path.
A PRAYER A DAY
The most effective tool we have to carry our praises and requests to the mercy feet of the Lordâthe throne of graceâis prayer.
When we pray as a group in unison with one anotherâin speech, in thought, in deedâwe call upon God to feel compassion for ourselves and for those with whom we have a common bond.
Every religion extols the virtues of collective prayer. The Hadith 618 in Quran-Sahih Bukhari- Volume 1- Book-11 states that group prayer is 27 times more effective than individual prayer.
According to Matthew 18.20 of the Bible, “When two or three are gathered in my name, I am in the midst of them.”
At every home, the entire family gathers to perform pujas and chant mantras to request the blessing of the Deity.
Everyday prayer is offered by children at Britto’s. There is a schedule for praying, not only for ourselves but also for others. God hears the small Children’s innocent prayer. As adults, we must teach them to pray with purpose, fervently, for all reasons, and in all seasons in order to establish that there is a supreme power, the Almighty, who rules the world.
Every Monday, kids pray for themselves, their families, and their friends. This is the prayer. We can also try to practice offering prayers. What is the one prayer you want to offer to God?
