Hindi Day - St.Britto's Academy

October 20, 2016

Hindi Day

Land of  language, culture and diversity is India. World of integrity, knowledge and commitment is school, and St. Britto’s Academy demonstrated just that, by combining both while celebrating ‘Hindi Diwas’ on the 20th of October 2016. Hindi, the Official Language of India, has undoubtedly put its name in the list of the most known languages in the world, just after Chinese. Hindi Diwas was celebrated by the Department of Hindi to bring awareness among students about our very own National Language. The celebration started off with the Welcome Address and was followed by Special Songs sung by students of classes VII and VIII.

Rejuvenating our ‘Hindustani’ soul were the two dance performances by students of classes VI-VIII and II and IV std. respectively. The mime on Girl Child Education received good applause from the audience while the highlight of the day was a wonderful street play that brought out the traditional side of the Hindi language. The Chief Guest of the day, Mrs. Kalanidhi Dhinakar, an experienced and inspiring aura, spoke on the importance of learning Hindi. The theme of Hindi Diwas, ‘Peace and Harmony’, was well expressed by Jaiton as he spoke of how Hindi unifies the whole of India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The celebration created patriotic fervour in the minds of the students.
