Director General of Taiwan Economic and Cultural Centre, Chennai, Mr.Charles Li inaugurated ‘Mandarin Chinese’ classes at St. Britto’s Academy, Velachery.This is the first school to introduce Mandarin Chinese for school students.
Speeches, power points gave an insight on the importance of learning the most widely spoken language in the world. In view of the fast increasing international interaction and cooperation in socio political, educational, Cultural and economic fields, a growing need for learning Mandarin Chinese, in the world is felt.
Experts say more business ventures in infrastructure, power generation and electronic ship manufacturing are coming in, and there will be a much larger need to have Mandarin Chinese language speaking person to translate, to interpret and teach Mandarin Chinese for the next 3 decades.
Mandarin Chinese is very important to work for international company and to set up our own enterprise either in India or in any other country.
Earlier in November, 2016, four staff of the Institution were sent to Taiwan to represent our country in the International Conference on Solar Energy, Agri Business and Entrepreneurship.
During his speech, Mr. Charles Li expressed his admiration for the school curriculum which ensuresholistic development of the students.
The Secretary and Correspondent, Mrs. Vimala Britto, who had been a State Guest of Taiwan recently, spoke of developing Technological solutions for persistent needs of the society.
St. Britto’s Institution has also signed MOU with Da-Yeh University Taiwan for student and staff exchange programmes in the field of Logistics , Fashion and English communication.
The curriculum followed at St. Britto’s was appreciated by the Director General of Taiwan.
An MOU is signed between SEEK, the NGO run by the founders of St. Britto’s and Changua Mission Hospital, Taiwan to provide Medical assistance and training to the people and Hospitals in villages across Tamil Nadu.
