The Department of Kindergarten of St. Britto’s Academy celebrated Blue Day on 02-02- 2017 at SMR Hall from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. with the theme ‘care for animals’ imbibing the motto of Blue Cross to inculcate in the kindergarteners the habit to take care of animals. The children and parents chose to dress themselves up in Blue colour. They spoke on safety about animals, freeing the parrots, unchaining the monkeys, stopping to hurt the elephants, exhorting everyone to contact the veterinary doctor if they found any animal in distress.
Two groups of children showed up in animals’ costume and entertained everyone by dancing to a song in Tamil which urged on giving care to the animals. Students spoke on extending care, food and love to the animal fraternity. They said on behalf of the animals they supported, “Shoot us with cameras, don’t shoot us with guns.” The objective of celebrating the day was to infuse a heart of compassion and care for the animals of our community. Children learned to pray for animals, not to hurt them and to help the animals in need.
