The World Youth Skills Day, is an event organised by the United Nations (UN). It celebrates the strategic importance of equipping the youth with skills for employment, entrepreneurship and work. It is observed on July 15 every year. The day first came into existence back in 2014, and has since then provided a unique opportunity for dialogue between young people, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions and organizations.
The learners of grade 11 B had conducted the Virtual Assembly with great interest.Ā Rendering to the quote, āThe best yardstick for our progress is not other people, but ourselvesā the session conveyed the necessity of learning and expertise excellently. The main thought was to emphasize the importance and need to equip young people with skills for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship. The assembly was compeered by Arjun S V and Nijil M. It started with Lordās Prayer followed by bible reading by Kaya R and Allen Joshua respectively. An adoring AV of a Prayer song created by the std XI B choir was played.Ā
The significance of the day and TVETās (Technical and vocational education and training) key role to play in fostering the resilience of young people was highlighted by Vishal E S & Kavin Kumar respectively. The note mentioning the continuity of skills development in the Education field to adapt promptly to alternative modes of training and assessment was comprehensive by Shalika B. It reflected the current global challenges in skill development across the globe due to pandemics.Ā Later Arjun S V and Srinath presented a PPT presentation on Achievements related to two skilled youth personalities ā Mr Ritesh Agarwal and Mr Deepak Ravindran. Young skilled Brittorians of std XI B were showcased in their skilled areas. It was a dazzling and inspiring part of the programme. Finally, the session ended with a Thanks Note delivered by Adhityaa A.
The innovations and Critical thinking in skills development were pondered by all the students. The session enlightened the students to focus on acquiring skills on their interest and inspiration. Carrying out the process of Pre-planning, Team coordination and Execution of this programme were the Key Take-Aways for the enthusiastic synergizers.Ā
