The event Guiding Light with a sensible tagline “Career Spotlight, Every Fortnight” took place on the 13th of February 2022. The event was organized by the Std IX – XII Young Leaders of St. Britto’s Academy and a paired school in Central Chennai in collaboration with Live Life Education. The program was conducted through Zoom and focused on the topic – Medicine. More than 150 budding aspirants of both schools took part in the program.

The event started at 5:30 pm. Career guidance was presented by Mr. Praveen, a career coach from Live Life Education. An ingenious mind map was used to explain the numerous careers in Medicine with constant interaction from the participants. By 6 pm the career counselling session was done. When esteemed chief guest Dr.K.Gireesh a neurosurgeon and neuro physician graced the occasion, He and all the participants were welcomed by Ishana Agarwal. This was followed by a quick briefing about the event imparted by Mahima. By now the participants were eager to enter the next phase of the program. Sahana presented the introduction about the guest highlighting the prominent works of Dr.K.Gireesh. The most awaited moment had arrived. The masters of ceremonies Shaun Orlando and Aswath began their talks with Dr.K.Gireesh, questioning various aspects of his life. Dr.K.Gireesh came prepared with a PPT presentation to explain to the audience several medical instances that helped the world evolve in the field of medicine and a few personal cases he had handled. The interview took a deep dive into the people, the joys, and the hardships that sculpted him to become the person he is today.

The interviewers then signed off and thanked the guest for his valuable time. Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Angelina Joel. The link for a questionnaire was sent in the chat and the audience was requested to fill it out to get the participation certificate. This major up-taking by the students had paid off. Overall, the event was a grand success.
