KG Grandparents’ Day was celebrated at St. Britto’s Academy, Velachery, Chennai 25.02.2017 to honour the grandparents of the students of the Kindergarten and to persuade grandchildren to tap the wisdom and heritage their grandparents could provide. The tiny tykes presented a range of activities to entertain their grandparents. It was sheer joy writ large on the faces of the parents and grandparents who came from near and far to see their munchkins dance to music and hear them speak confidently and fluently over the mike. The activities were an assimilation of all the Special Assemblies the Kindergarteners had each month, through the Academic year.
Dances involved full movement of the body and were an indication of the development of their fine motor skills, concentration, creativity and teamwork. The highlight of the day was the Fun Dance by the students of LKG. The student comperes of UKG were another attraction. The Principal, Mrs. Mary Vasanthakumari, commended the tiny tots of LKG who showed exemplary situational awareness, arranging themselves without any prompt or guidance on stage and dancing exceptionally well, receiving a thunderous applause from the gathering. She lavished praises on the excellent speakers too. Gifts were given to all the grandparents as a token of respect for them. The cute actions, well-rendered speeches and the messages driven captured the hearts and minds of the entire gathering. Overall, it was a memorable day for the kindergarteners, their family and the school.
