73rd Independence Day

The students of classes 6 – 8, hosted the 73rd Independence Day celebrations on                15th August 2019, St. Britto’s Academy, Chennai.

The Programme started off, with the Indian Flag being hoisted by the Chief Guest Mr. K. Gowthaman – DSP, special investigation division, CB-CID. March past was headed by the Head boy and the head girl, followed by the Scouts and Guides and four house captains who led their teams to pay reverence and respect to the Flag and the Chief Guest. Vandematram song and the drill formation culminating in the Indian Tricolor Flag Formation enthralled the audience. Prayer song was rendered by the choir followed by the prayer for nation which set the stage for special song- “Achamillai” and various patriotic programs like the group dance, speech in Hindi, skit exhibiting the bravery of the freedom fighter – Maruthanayagam, the dialogue – which projected some eminent Indian personalities, their lifetime achievements etc.

The main focus of the day was a virtual visualization for a progressing nation like India – towards 2050, through a Talk show and Tableau. This event was certainly a torchbearer to highlight the tremendous development.

The Chief Guest’s message highlighted that Education plays a vital part in everyone’s life and such a higher order of learning must be internalized and nurtured within each one of us, so as to become compassionate human beings and make this Earth a better place to live in. He also felicitated the Cubs and Bulbuls for their state and national awards with badges and certificates.

Finally, the Vote of thanks was proposed followed by the National Anthem.
